Global Handwashing Day: Few Hygiene Essentials To Keep Handy - bwhealthcareworld - by Manisha Reetesh Dhingra

Here are a few sustainable and minimalistic hygiene essentials to celebrate Global Handwashing Day.

When Global Handwashing Day was first commemorated on 15th October 2008 to raise awareness and knowledge about the importance of handwashing, no one would have predicted that in a little more than 10 years, we would be living in the year of hand hygiene with the theme ‘Our Future is at Hand–Let’s Move Forward Together.’

Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, in addition to maintaining a social distance from people and wearing a mask whenever going out, the government and doctors have emphasized hand-washing in unison. The unexpected outbreak of the pandemic has triggered extensive use of hygiene products to prevent the infection from spreading. Washing hands regularly can help avoid sickness in the first place, proving prevention is better than cure. It is one of the most effective and simple methods for removing germs, avoiding illness and preventing the transfer of germs to others.

So, here are a few sustainable and minimalistic hygiene essentials to celebrate Global Handwashing Day:

Handwash

Washing hands on a regular basis has become a habit that is likely to stick around because it is an essential step toward better hygiene. This keeps your hands germ-free, clean and disinfected. Since washing hands multiple times with hard solutions can dehydrate and scrape the skin, it is preferable to opt for pure and safe liquid handwash containing natural ingredients such as Tulsi, Aloe Vera and Lemon, which have antimicrobial properties that help get rid of germs while also nourishing the skin.

Antibacterial foam hand wash

Foam hand wash cleans your hands and protects them from germs, leaving them smooth and hydrated. This Paraben-free, Sulphate-free antibacterial formula with Aloe vera protects you from germs, bacteria and viruses. It is soft on your skin but aggressive against germs, viruses and harmful bacteria, providing you the comprehensive care you need. It is comparatively better than a liquid handwash because it has a greater reach in the areas of the hands, eradicating germs more effectively. It can be used in the bathroom, kitchen, gym, hotel and other locations.

Hand sanitising wipes

Hand sanitising wipes were often considered posh products, but keeping the pandemic in mind, it has become essential to have hand wipes handy to keep your hands clean and dirt-free safeguarding yourself from deadly viruses. As hand wipes are convenient to carry, look for one that has the goodness of natural ingredients like glycerine, almond oil, aloe vera and lemon in it.

Hand sanitisers

As the foremost shield against the Coronavirus, hand sanitisers and masks were mandatory for everyone. It's advisable to keep a hand sanitizer with you at all times, especially when traveling. And, using a hand sanitizer enriched with natural ingredients such as Aloe Vera, mint, and lemon, which are well-known for their antimicrobial characteristics, protects and hydrates the skin.

Though the world is slowly yet steadily returning to normal, it is still a good idea to be prepared for viruses, germs, and other external diseases that can harm you or your loved ones. When things go wrong, it's common to assume they're attempting to teach us something. Regardless of the pandemic, it's crucial to remember that following proper hand hygiene not only protects you but also helps to prevent the spread of infections to others. Thus, it is imperative that we prioritize hand hygiene. After all, our life is in our hands.
